Upon arrival in Tangier, your driver will greet you at the airport or port. Begin your Moroccan adventure by traveling through the beautiful Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. This peaceful town, with its blue-washed walls and relaxed atmosphere, offers a perfect start to your journey. Spend the evening exploring its narrow alleys, visiting the main square of Outa el Hammam, and enjoying a local dinner with views of the mountains. Overnight in a riad.
After breakfast, drive south toward Volubilis, Morocco’s most important Roman archaeological site. Stroll among the ancient ruins and mosaics that tell stories of the Roman Empire’s presence in North Africa. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, to see Bab Mansour, El Hedim Square, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. In the late afternoon, arrive in Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Dinner and overnight in a traditional riad inside the old medina.
Today, enjoy a full-day guided tour of Fes, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the maze-like streets of Fes el-Bali, home to ancient madrasas, tanneries, and artisan workshops. Visit landmarks such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Quaraouiyine University, Attarine Madrasa, and Najjariine Fountain. Discover the vibrant souks filled with leather goods, textiles, and ceramics, and enjoy panoramic views from the Marinid Tombs. Overnight in Fes.
After breakfast, journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, a charming town often called “Little Switzerland,” and Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. Continue toward Midelt and descend into the Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Arrive at Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, where your camel awaits for a sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music, and stargazing in your luxury desert camp.
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, set out to explore the desert region. Visit Khamlia village, home to Gnawa musicians known for their spiritual rhythms. Meet nomadic families, visit fossil sites, and explore the black desert near the Algerian border. After lunch, you can enjoy optional activities such as quad biking or sandboarding. In the evening, relax with dinner and music in your camp or local riad.
Depart the desert after breakfast and stop at the traditional market of Rissani, once a key trading post along the caravan routes. Continue through Erfoud and Tinghir, where you’ll visit the dramatic Todra Gorges, with towering limestone cliffs over 300 meters high. Walk along the river before driving through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its kasbahs and red rock formations. Dinner and overnight in Dades.
Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Rose Valley in Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for rose products and festivals. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where many famous films were shot. After breakfast, visit the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, exploring its winding paths and panoramic views. Then, cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Arrive in Marrakech by the afternoon and settle into your riad. Enjoy your first evening exploring the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square, alive with storytellers, musicians, and street food vendors.
Discover Marrakech, on a guided tour that reveals its fascinating mix of history and culture. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and Saadian Tombs, then explore the lively souks filled with colorful handicrafts. Later, visit the serene Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Spend the evening at leisure or enjoy a traditional dinner with music and folklore.
Today you can choose between two excursions: visit the beautiful Ourika Valley in the Atlas Mountains, home to Berber villages and waterfalls, or drive to the majestic Ouzoud Waterfalls, Morocco’s highest and most famous falls. Return to Marrakech in the evening for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, travel west to the coastal town of Essaouira, a charming seaside city with a laid-back atmosphere. Stroll along its fortified ramparts, visit the bustling port with colorful fishing boats, and explore the medina’s art galleries and workshops. Leave Essaouira behind and follow the Atlantic coast to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest and most modern city. After breakfast, continue to Rabat, Morocco’s political capital and a UNESCO-listed city. Visit the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the Atlantic. Later, head north to Asilah, a peaceful coastal town known for its whitewashed walls, blue doors, and street art. Enjoy a relaxing evening by the sea.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before returning to Tangier. Depending on your schedule, visit highlights such as Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules before transfer to your airport, port, or hotel.
