7 Days Tour from Tangier to the Sahara Desert
Meet your driver in Tangier and start your journey through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Stroll through its peaceful blue-painted streets, visit the medina, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful mountain town. Overnight in a charming riad in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, drive south towards the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its mosaics and ancient structures. Continue to Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Arrive in the evening and settle into your riad in the old medina.
Spend the day exploring Fes el-Bali, the oldest and most fascinating medina in Morocco. With your local guide, visit highlights such as the University of Al Quaraouiyine, Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries. Walk through the maze of alleys filled with artisans, markets, and historical monuments. Overnight in Fes.
Leave Fes early, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane (nicknamed “Little Switzerland”) and the cedar forest of Azrou to see the Barbary monkeys. Continue through Midelt and along the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Ride your camel into the dunes of Erg Chebbi to your luxury desert camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber music, and an unforgettable night under the stars.
Wake up early for a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the desert region: visit Khamlia village (home of the Gnawa musicians), meet nomadic families, and stop in Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Continue to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Return to Merzouga for another relaxing evening and dinner at your camp or riad.
After breakfast, depart from the desert towards Meknes, another imperial city of Morocco. Enjoy scenic stops along the Ziz Valley and the Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Meknes in the afternoon and explore sites such as Bab Mansour Gate, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the El Hedim Square. Overnight in a riad in Meknes.
After breakfast, drive back north through beautiful landscapes and Rif villages. Stop for lunch in Chefchaouen before continuing to Tangier, where your 7-day desert adventure ends with drop-off at your hotel or the port.
